James “Gene” Lake Estate Buddy L Toy Auction #2 – Rio, IL

James “Gene” Lake of Rio, IL has amassed one of the largest Buddy L “Victory” toy collections in the United States. The Victory Brand toys were made during and for a short period after WWII in efforts to conserve metal for the war. You will look a long time before you come across this many Victory Brand Buddy L toys in one place ever again. Several of these are museum quality pieces. This is a very small sampling of over 150 toys that will be sold. Check back in the upcoming weeks for a complete update and catalog.

Please make a note. All toys have been removed from his home outside of Rio, to the Kyle Kelso Auctioneer facility in Bushnell, IL. This will an ONLINE ONLY auction being held on our online bidding platform of HiBid.com. Auction will be held on June 5th, 2025 starting at 6:00pm. Pick up for this sale will be the following day, June 6thth, 2025 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. There will be no alternate pick up dates.
